Why do I write like I do?

A poet is nothing more or less than a chef who savors the taste of words in different languages.

We cook up phrases in classic and contemporary style, spiced with metaphor, seasoned with euphamisms, and roasted in the flames of common passions, as they may be at the time...

We roll words around at the back of our mouths before speaking them, to see how they go together, compare the results, and balance their play one with another so that they come out finally as a completed confection, suitable to be presented at table.

A poet is someone who can present a full picture in living color and on whole clothe, from a few simple statements, rather than spitefully vouchsafing the bare minimum that needs be said - leaving else unspoken

Poets are people who dream in color

I write what I think and dream

Some people paint on canvases with differing hues of oils, pastels and water.

Some people sketch out scenes of life, love and drama with pencil and charcoal.

You, my friend, paint in a whole different manner.

We two have a similar mind when we choose to express ourselves in an artistic mode.

With the mind as our canvas,,, and the delectable array of words before us,,, we can conjure the most vivid of panoramas.

Complete with colors, sounds and most important of all,,, feelings!!!

Hope you are well, Wolfie!!

Greywolf, I love reading your posts! You most certainly do have a way with words. You have a talent that few people have. Good communicators are hard to find.
