Hi everyone. I'm new to this message board so I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the front door panel and install a new side view mirror for the passenger door on a 2002 F-150? Please help....Thanks.
I have a 1997 F150. I don't know if they changed much. I had to take mine of when I installed some aftermarket signal mirrors a few years ago. If I remember correctly you had to remove the switches for the window motor and door locks. They pop out when you pry them from one end. I think there was a cap that was near the door lever that had to be popped off to unbolt the handle. After that, the door skin can just come off by pulling at the edges and working your way around. It comes off real easy if you start working your way around and it seems to get hard to pull, double check there may be some kind of a cap in that section that needs to be popped off and is probably hiding a bolt.
You may go to www.muthco.com . That is where I bought my signal mirrors. They had instructions that you could download to install the mirrrors for free. It walked me throught it. I would imagine you could do the same for your vehicle. It is basically the same procedure.
Hope this helps good luck.....
Hey thanks a lot Black Beauty. I actually found directions on installing different speakers which included how to take off the door panel. I appreciate your help. My brother helped me install the new mirror in last night.
