Sorry to see you go D8. Hope your new ride treats you well. I almost bought a 2006 F-150 before I bought the big red machine, but I did't fit in the seats to well. I don't think the truck was built for tall people.
Good Luck D8, having been in your shoes something tells me when things are right you will be back with us here in the 6.0 where you belong...it took me 3 years but I came back.
I will tell you that I liked the F-150 alot, but it would pass everything but a gas station towming my Grand National.
Or do what I do and still doing the "wait to start" routine. Of course, when I get out of the habit it's time to get back into the big truck and the cycle begins anew.
You guys are too funny! I think that will take a few days, as I am still doing that- and when I pull into the garage I don't feel right just turning it off. I still find myself looking for the EGT on the pillar pod! And Bismic, I think William would be a shoe-in for the resident smarta$$ as he and I have exchanged some PM's as for the #2 in the tank, well- I hope I don't get that sloppy! Sarge- I managed almost 19 mpg on the road trip this weekend, mostly 65-70 mph and it has just shy of 500 miles on it. As far as towing, I never really did much of that so I doubt that will be an issue. I told the salesman that if whoever buys it has any questions I would gladly talk to the guy (or girl) that buys it, and I also hope they take good care of it. If I see it in shambles someday I might just cry a little. I will especially recommend the new owner to the BEST 6.0 forum ever! But off the topic here, boy did we have a great time this weekend! Those fields are just perfect, and I'm sure its a memory my son, wife myself and my daughter won't ever forget! He is already talking about the next camp there after the World Series itself, in mid- September. We'll see how well his grades hold up. Well thats it for now, I thank all you guys who have put up with me, and those who have helped me to keep my sanity last year when I did have ALOT of problems with it. Thanks, and I'll still stop by, and yes- that IS a threat! God Bless all of you, and God Bless the troops! - Tim
Thanks Maxium. I really do miss the KR, but alot of things about it I won't. There were alot of diesels around there, and every time I heard one I got a twitch
Congrats on the new ride and you were definitely a plus to the site. Some day we all have to move on and this is your time. I love the diesel but if I didn't need it, for towing, the extra maintenance is just an unecessary drain on your resources. When I bought mine, the next day, I thought what the hell did I do. The sounds have grown on me and I would miss them. If I sold the 5er, would I sell the 6.0? I would really have to search my conscience. I can afford it and that makes the diff. between me and a lot of people on the forum. Everyone has to do what is best for them. You are still raising a family, mine are grown, except for the wife, LOL. Good luck and hope to see you on the boards.
not going to say goodbye...but farewell for now...thanks for all your sage advise and words of wisdom during my short stay here on the forum. Gotta love that new F150...smartcab technology.
Mine was an 06, it had 20's with 3.73's so that was half the problem. I loved it but needed the bigger truck.
I have heard great things about the new f-150s and if I ever sell the GN I will not need the diesel, but its mine in 8 more months so I think I will run the body off it...which may not take long up here, but so far so good.
Take Care and I cant wait to see pics of the new truck too.
Just out of curiosity did yours come with the sync system on it?
Yes, and that is a nice feature. I have to hook up the phone to it, and listening to the Sirius on the roadtrip was a plus too. We were also able to plug in my sons Ipod and play some "pumping" music before his games. A very nice feature indeed.
Thanks 69CJ- but I'm still around 2010 Ford F-150 For Sale | New Holland PA#
Heres a link to its twin, but mine has tan cloth interior- until I get time to take pics. Baseball tonight, tomorrow, Thurs, maybe I can take some Fri? I'll get some soon but until then at least you can see something.
Oh, and a power rear slider- thats a nice feature too- along with rear window defroster.
