for a truck that nice, I could deal with not having A/C lol
My thoughts exactly
Nice and clean! Turbo installed or no? Still cheaper than my truck and mines matte black.. These guys have some good tips for getting some performance out of a n/a engine too like the soup bowl
Not planning on any mods. For me a diesel is a workhorse and thats exactly what this will be once I get the ladder rack on it. My chief concern is fuel economy.
I'm curious what kind of tach that is. Several members have been interested in an aftermarket tach, but most wont work with diesels.
Cant see any brand name on the tack but it certainly works which is nice for a penny pinching Scot lol
I gotta ask, what do you guys drive in scotland.
My last vehicle was a Ford escort car derived van. Check out the pic. It had a 1.6 Diesel and got 50mpg which is important when you live in a country where Diesel is the equivalent of $10 per gallon
i hear they spend most of their time behind sheap
LOl actually I come from Scotlands largest city (Glasgow) most of my time was spent behind buses and taxis in the city center whilst trying to go about my work
don't take me crackin off the wrong way
g'pa was a Scott and I got his big mouth
No offense taken. Now if you had been an Englishman that would have been a different matter
is that a ford TC diesel? wish they sold those here
The Ford transit connect has been introduced to the US but not in the Diesel version yet. http://www.fordvehicles.com/transitc...8|216692965The pic I posted above is a Ford Escort Van. There' sa a few car derived vans in the UK
Both grandparents Scottish. Like my dear departed momma used to say: "Ah, Grand Old England. Where they elevated mother-buggering to the new high of an art form." LOL
Love the Truck. But that car! WOW! A diesel engine in a ford escort. Bet that did get excellent mpg. Driving my Escort didn't seem so bad when gas was at $4 a gallon.

I was getting 46mpg in the city with that wee thing. My previous van was an Austin Maestro.(See pic) It had a 2.0 l DI Perkins Diesel and got me 50mpg in the city. The only drawback was that they were rust buckets. The sills and bulkhead would rot within 3 years unless you got one from new and did extra sealing work. The engines were superb though. A lot of them were taken out and used in boats.
I got really drunk with a Scotsman in the Heathrow airport. I couldn't pay for one beer with my credit card because there was a $$$$ minimum. Turns out I had to buy 6 Stellas to meet that minimum. A great big **** slapped me on the back and boomed, "That's the way son!" I gave him 3 of them and he bought another round. I almost missed my flight home.
