What is the difference between dodge hubs and ford hubs. I believe the only difference is the stub shaft is longer on dodges. Fords are around 11.5" compared to 12". Came across a set of hubs for $100 bucks dyna lok and thought I could use on a ford dana 60. With a few mods it might work but the two gears are to tall or something. tried a few things but no luck yet to make selectable. Any info would be welcome.
the reason is the wheel hub and spindle is longer (deeper or whatever you want to call it) and thats why the stub is longer on Dodges. You will not be able to use these hubs as far as I know without a major overhaul of your whole axle from the inner Cs out.
Best bet is to sell these and buy the correct Warn or Spicer lockouts.
If you're talking just the lockouts, there is no difference whatsoever as long as the dodge has internal lockouts, not the old externals, but I don't think Dynatrack makes an external hub.
The difference in the wheel hub is because the Fords have the bearings 5/8" closer together than Dodge/Chevy. This affects the length of the stub axle and the spindle, but not the lockout. I have a set of lockouts from a 93 or so F250 on my 92 Dodge, just peeled the Ford stickers off of the *****... LOL
One of my buddy's has machined his Chevy spindles to work with Ford stuff just due to the availability of Ford single wheel hubs, had the seat for the outer bearing moved in 5/8", more threads cut and 5/8 trimmed off the end.
