I know that on VW diesels they sell a few diferent head gaskets to make up for slight machining diferences and put the compresion ration right where they want it, if we are only talking about .080" perhaps someone could be talked into building a thick brass head gasket

however I agree with crawler about doing a refresh on the bottom any time you're starting a perfomance build, seen too many motors killed by folks who figured it still ran like new so they could treat it like new

ya, that's true. I'm sure the intake could easily be resolved. And we always run custom push rods on the gas engines, so I'm used to ordering sets anyways. And 80k on a 350 is like 200k ok a diesel. And it depends on the boost you decide to run. 5 lbs on a 80k small block is save at 80k miles as long as the engine has been maintained well. Neglected engine no way
