After all the negative stuff that seems to come up heres a happy thread. I have ben driving the truck now that boat season is here. Had a bad spell with the truck a bit a go, but all is well now. So I have some parts on order to do a little PM on the old truck. Heres what I have comming:
Rough Country Dual Steering Stabilizer Kit
Bilstien Leveling Kit w/ 5100 Shocks (rears are on back order)
DP 190 amp Alternator
2 New Motor Craft Batteries 1000 cca
The boat on the other hand left me stranded in the water today with a over charging alternator, and it blew a 50 amp fuse...however a bad day on the water is better than a good day at work, and the wife says we will be looking at new boats next season.
Happy Memorial Day and Thanks to All Those Who Have Served, Are Serving, and Gave The Ultimate Sacrifice for My Freedom.
The 6.0 should be a very capable marine engine, given its tremendous durability, overhaulability, and likelihood of doing 10,000 hours (one year of continuous use) between overhauls.
Yeah Mark its a DC Power Alt. as for a 6.0 not im my boat, it would probably sink it LOL, shes an oldy. I wont need the whole thousand to fix it, its just an alternator.
When I get the new boat I'll let you post that again LOL.
I have a '79 MasterCraft Stars & Stripes with a 351 Windsor, I know what you're saying about sinking! I wish I had a Radon or Wilson with a 6.0 in it.......the Japanese would have some competition in the Pacific catching all that tuna!
Mines a 84 Sea Sprite 19.5 Cuddy with a 3.0 OMC. She runs like a champ and I bought it cause it was my first bpat and I didnt know if the wife would like it so I went cheap. Well its been 3 years with the boat and other than winterizing it, I havent put anything really into it. So I guess a new alt. isnt that bad at this point. We were gonna get rid of it last year and get something newer, but it was running so good we thought we could get another season out of it. It still floats so I hope the alt. is the only trouble I will have this season. Another reason I hesitate to get rid of it is its paid for.
Cowboy,
Only you can change the fact that you are jelous of us with the DD...I am sure that someday people will be jealous of you too....I really need a fuel pressure guage too, just got to fix a few other things first.
