Reverse sensing system on 00 EB
Hello-
I own a 00 Eddie Bauer with the reverse sensing system. Since the vehicle was new- this system has never seemed to work right. It constantly gives a false alarm when in reverse. I have had it in for service 5 times to fix this- even have had Ford zone rep involved. After replacing sensors and having the vehicle in the shop for a total of 4 weeks, I was told the exhaust is what sets off the sensors. I gave up. This week my wife managed to clip the handle on our garbage can and break out the tail light without the system ever providing a positive alert.
Does anyone else have this system- and does it work reliably for you?
