What would y'all recommend ??

I have a 83 F-150, 351W, 123,000 miles on it and a 96 F-150 4X4 with the 300 I-6, 131,000 miles on it as of today.
I'm going to change my oil soon and would like to go with a synthetic blend. I do have a few important questions beforehand.

Am I commiting myself to using a synthtic blend everytime after this ??
Am I going to be forced to use full synthetic in time ??
What would be the best grade to use w/o breaking the bank ??
Which is better in a blended oil, 10W30 or 10W40 ??

My personal opinion, synthetic blends are a waste of money. Full synthetics can be a wise investment, if they actually allow for extended drain intervals.

In my 300 I6 with way more than 100K on it, I use a 15W-40 HDEO and change it at 3-5K intervals, depending on how it's used during that time. Sometimes, it's 2 months, other times more than 12 months. I've owned it for over 12 years/100K miles, but it isn't my primary daily use vehicle.
The Nissan truck gets 10W-30 diesel rated oil, and sees an average of 5K change intervals. It's nearing 250K (1/4 million) and rarely ever gets away with any oil, unless it goes well beyond 7500 miles before I get a chance to change it. Beyond 7500, it'll go thru a quart in 4-500 miles.....
The RX7 gets 20W-50, and changed at about 3500 miles. It's a rotary, so oil has to be added between changes, due to the oil injection system.

I'm a dino oil user, but I insist on buying a very high quality oil. My oil isn't available at walmart or parts stores, but it is approved for use in airplane engines........ (MIL 6082D) Google it.

Been using Rotella T for a while now. I love it... Jesus made it and handed it down from the heavens just for older flat tappet engines. lol
