For replacing the cracked piece you took pictures of: Have you tried a local breakers/junkyard to find a replacement?
I tried the local tow yard and they wanted $35.00 for it. I passed and just ordered a new one for $50. I'd rather have a good piece of mind with a new one than one thats 6 years old (truck in the yard)
No appologies needed. That picture you posted is what got me pointed in the right direction! Thats the great thing about this forum...when we all post with pictures like in this thread it makes it easier for the next person that comes across it in a search.

The part arrived yesterday. I installed it as soon as the rain was finished. The problem has been fixed and now I have air blowing through all of the vents when they are selected. Now I am ready for my 2 trips this summer. First one being to Springfield, IL. for a car show. The second being Alabama for family, and the third to Atlanta to see my new nephew. We will be doing the Alabama/ Atlanta in one big loop.
For anyone who wants it the part number is (7C3Z-9H465-A) for my year of vehicle.
