Not sure if it's relevant or not - but - my '75 F-250 SC has the HD brakes on it. The rear drums are 1/2" smaller in Diameter but 1/2" wider and the front calipers are different than the "standard". It's not hard to "lock 'em up" with or without a load. The 'standard rear diff is a Dana 60 - w/ 8x6.5" lug spacing. Mine has a 4.10 open that I'd like to change to a 3.73 LSD, for farm work but the 8.50 x 16 'Ground Hawgs' on the rear make short work of most dirt/mud.
I had a issue with my prop vavle not too long ago. I just went to the local salvage yard and grabbed all the valves I could find from the 78-79 ford trucks. I bench tested one, it tested good. Installed it and shelved the other two.
I would look in the local pick a part/salvage/junk yards and find a replacement on the cheap. just my 2 cents.
