There are a few locations. One of the tougher ones I have read about is somewhere behind the radio. However, there are a couple of threads that you may want to search the site for. Using a thread title you used in this thread title.

Some said you can get it from under the dash, but that never worked for me. I ultimately pulled out the radio, which is pretty easy with a couple bent coat hangers, and then with my cell phone camera, was able to reach in and snap a bunch of shots thru the wires, etc. The cell-phone thing was a tip from someone here on the forum.

At least on my 03 Limited, I was never going to see that code from below the dash...

On mine it was on a box behind the indash AM/FM/6 pack CD changer. I stuck my hand up behind the box, felt around for the code sticker, and peeled it off with my fingernail. I then placed the code sticker on the last page of the Owner's Manual for future reference if I sell the truck to somebody else.

When and if you find this box I am speaking of, the code sticker is on back of it facing the firewall.

How many of these threads are we gonna have with all these one time visitors asking where the code is? They post and I swear they never come back to the thread they posted to see.

I'm just saying...

keypad code

Thanks for your response. Looks like Im going to have to go to the local dealer for some keys and programming as I only have one key. I will have them give me the code at the same time. They are a pretty good bunch of guys and may only charge me for a half hour.

Not sure how much that will be.. but the is a key shop that does it for half of what my dealership told me. Or I saw a post on here about being able to pick up a key on ebay and program it your self using your truck and your key.

And if ya search for key pad code I think there is a post with pics showing an easy way to find the code.. just trying to save ya some cash..

depends on the year

It depends on what year you are asking about. i have an 05 and i was going to post a thread that i found it just yesterday 31 May. i was taking things apart to find a good spot to get power for a back up cam and took out the ash tray / cup holder and also the useless trash bag holder. while looking around happen to see a sticker to the left at about the 10 or 11 oclock postion. sticker has other part numbers but then saw 5 numbers by themselves gave it a shot and done deal.

Some say inside fuse cover, directly behind radio, under rear door latch handle.

Great thread on here if you look around.

Good luck

Found it

I've been looking for this thing for a while. I pulled the radio and used a flashlight to see what i could of a white sticker with a bar code and some letter number combinations. I had a feeling about this one. Its an 03 limited. The sticker is facing you but on a plastic box behind a metal pipe, that has been welded. I used a small mirror to see more of the sticker that was hidden from view. I wrote down the numbers and it did not work. Then (stupid me) realized the numbers were reversed in the mirror. I reversed them and it finally worked. It is a five digit code. The radio bracket, wiring, and that darn metal pipe keep you from seeing this rather large sticker.

Hope this helps someone,

John

I saw that metal pipe behind the radio (with the really ugly welds on it) that you are talking about. I will have to take a closer look!
