Can you still get glass head lite lenses ?
I'm really tired of cleaning these plastic ones all the time.
Or is there an easy way to clean them once and for all, the old glass didn't get all this crap.
You can still get the bug eye...err glass headlights. Ask for XL trim headlights. You can also get yourself some higher wattage ones. A few setbacks though. I don't think the header panel is the same, the plug ins may be different, you will need the bezel and adjusters as well. New parking light assemblies as well. They are completely different. A way to stop yellowing is to actually get a new set or polish yours to your satisfaction, then get some Xpel headlight covers which are clear thermoplastic that absorb impacts very well, keep the lens from yellowing, can be replaced, and don't pit easily at all.
When you polish the junk plastic head lights, you destroy the UV protection. They'll just cloud up again quickly.
I though you can just pull out those plastic ones and install the glass adjustment housing and shroud and it fits...
**not my truck, just googled the XL pic.
Those parking lights and turn signals look identical to my XLT's. I've found an XL at a junk yard and I'm tempted to snag the light setup. My silverstars in my '86 are far superior lights to my '00.
My mistake, I was thinking of the '05+ lower signal lights. We have 05 trucks at work so they look different. The point behind putting the xpel lens covers is to replace the UV protection you got rid of. They are UV stable. Most of what happens is oxidation on the plastic lens anyway.
