Need help with fuel injection wire loom

Just found this site, I have a 2001 7.3, it is idling bad no power I had it check and codes say 3to5 open highto low. A friend said the wire loom for the passanger side injector loom needs to be replaced. Is this true? Is it doable with bascic mechanic skils?

Welcome Man,

It is probably just your Under Valve Cover Harness(UVCH) that has become slightly disconnected. Here is a link for you to look into it and do the .50 Mod.

Here's a picture to help out with that video.

And a side shot to show the little tabs that are in the new style looms.

Thanks for reporting back on the fix. That's always useful in the future for someone that runs across this thread in a search.

Now don't be a stranger. There's plenty more to learn about these trucks here, and a friendly bunch of folks to talk to. We've seen repair bills from dealers for over $1,000.00 for what you just did in 4 hours with a couple of quarters, so you can see we're not out to get you for anything. Just a bunch of guys and gals who drive the same truck you do sharing experiences on what works and what doesn't.
