460 cat?

460 cat?

I have a 97 with a 460 and just bought a set of headers but not sure what to do about the rest of he exhaust I wanna go with true duals and no cat but will that make my O2 sensor freak out?

If 97's are OBD-II (car guy speaking, not sure which year Ford trucks switched over) then you will have an o2 sensor before and after your cat. If you remove your cat, your O2 sensor reading will be off and your MPG will be effected. I'd just keep your cats if I were you.

No its obd 1 I think just one sensor before the cat I've been told I can gut it and it'll be just fine just not sure if I can get rid of it all together

If you only have one sensor then feel free to get rid of it, as long as you're in a state that doesn't have emissions.
