Hello,
I've have a question about the factory wire harness on my 1994 F150. My cab has the plug for the brake controller (a prodigy) wired in factory just plug and go and the power distribution box has all the maxi's for power and lights etc.My question is were are the wires at the rear of the truck? It didn't come with a tow package so put one on.The harness I got is a 7 pin and plugs in right behind the bumper and doesn't include the power or brake more like a 4 pin. Did they run these wires back or do they dead end someplace? Hope someone can help me out.If it's all ready wired up by the factory I hate to run new ones.
I'm not sure I completely understand your question. If the truck didn't come with a tow package option then as for a wiring harness to the rear I would have to say no it doesn't. I know on a 02 Dakota I owned I had to order a trailer tow package wiring harness from the dealer the factory harness plugged into existing plugs. Our Chevy Blazer has an tow package option & all wires were run to the rear of the vehicle. They were tucked up between the bumper & receiver. They were just taped off in a bundle. As for the Fords I'm not sure what they do. But I would assume they are close to Chevy & Dodge. I know my Rangers without a tow package option I had to buy a special connector & plug it into the tail/turn harness to get the four wire there were no other wires.
I hope this helps.
Craig
not sure about your '94, but on my '99 the 7 pin harness plugged in at the frame rail above the spare tire. I believe I got the harness from WallyWorld.
