2010 f150 towing

I just upgraded my '07 f150 5.4l with tow package for a 2010 f150 5.4l with max trailer tow. I was wondering if the 2010 will be better at towing than the '07. I pull a 8500lb fifth wheel camper and the '07 did a decent job but I'm hopeing this truck does better. Any thoughts? Haven't got around to installing the hitch yet.

Did you get 5.5 or 6.5?

6.5 has two piece driveshaft which can give problems if you really overload weight.

I got the 6.5 so I can get away with a regular fifth wheel hitch. the truck is rated for 11,100lbs conventional towing!

you will do just fine. i went from an 05 supercrew 4x4 to my 09 and i love it. the towing ability is great. especially with the trailer brake controller. it takes a little while to get used to how the tow/haul mode shifts and performs but it is programmed a certain way.
