Warm weather - running poorly
For instance, pulling away from a light, if I apply heavy throttle, it will run fine until boost gets to about 8 psi, then it feels like it's being choked to death and boost won't increase past 9. Also, if I stand on it to pull out and pass, it will feel the same way. This isn't a constant problem - it comes and goes - but it is getting more frequent.
It feels like a lack of fuel. I did the fuel tank mod a couple years ago. The fuel filters have been replaced, full tank of fuel, fresh oil - it still does it.
It did this to me a few times last summer, but this year it is WAY more frequent.
Can the fuel pump be going bad? If so, why would it only act this way when the air temp is up?
Head to Autozone and see if they can pull your codes for you...it may not always show an SES light, as they're sometimes set as "soft" codes...
I've had a P1211 code since installing the tuner. My understaning this is not uncommon nor significant reason for concern.
I've also had a P0475 since gutting the EBPV last summer. I never got the code eliminator.
Because of these, I've grown accustomed to ignoring the CEL which is always on.
I checked the codes in the Edge last night and found two more: P0670 and P0683 which are glow plug system codes, I believe. I have had intermittent starting issues which I suspect could be glow plug related, but the last of these was almost a month ago. I haven't checked the codes in that time so I assumed they were left over from the last incident. I cleared the codes from the Edge and called it a night.
This morning, after starting the truck normally, the P0683 code was back.
Could a glow plug issue cause my war weather issues?
Would a real scanner find codes the Edge is not capable of displaying?
