How hard is it to replace all the speakers in a Bronco?
What sizes are they?
I have a 1996 XLT and I replaced the head unit, now the speakers sound pretty junk.
I will probably use Sony speakers to match the new head unit.
It'll be easier for you to go out to you FSB and measure the speaker than for me to take the time out of my day, and night, to look in my service manual for the size that might or might not be the size of speakers in your FSB.
How about taking some pictures of the speakers and telling us how you do it?
I replaced the front ones. Back one are sorta good still. I bought from Crutchfield online. Enter your make and model, choose from the speakers that fit. When they arrive the instructions are great. Adapters for the Ford connectors were nice.
To replace the front speakers you have to take out the doors trim panels, it's a mixture of plastic clips and bolts, quite an easy job, the speakers are 6", if i remember right. The rear ones are even easier to get to, just take out the speaker grills (very carefully, as they clip directly into the plastic trim), the rear speakers are 5x7".

I will add this into my build thread. I thought that I would ask first then buy the speakers before start taking apart the truck.
The Bronco is becoming a "daily driver" since I replaced the engine.
Thanks Encho!
Do you think aftermarket speakers reproduce sound better than the stock speakers?
I replaced mines like 10 years ago with some Pioneer ones (they are still working just fine, and i still have the original ones stored somewhere), they sound nice. Most speakers from good brands won't sound all that different until you start to raise the volume to very loud levels, but stereo systems might. I would say find a good deal and be done with it (I'm not all that much into hearing anything loudly anyway).
So far I am removing the rear speakers first.
On the passenger side (the first side I am working on) I just tried pulling
the grille/speaker cover. It is a little difficult to do it this way, so I plan to
remove the whole panel to remove the speaker and the grille portion.
I was damaging the plastic panel and I do not want to damage the drivers side
plastic panel.
Also, removing the entire panel will allow access to all the screws holding in the 5x7 speaker.
My grilles are rusting on the bottom, so I am painting them both with
satin black paint. (the passenger grille is painted at this time)
