Yesterday I started my wife's 2005 Eddie Bauer Expy with the electric climate control and when I tried to turn on the A/C there was no power at all to the controls on the dash. Everything else on the truck seemed fine. I drove down to my garage, turned it off, went in to get my test light, started the truck again to move it and the A/C controls were lit up and working fine. They have worked fine since. Is this a one time thing or is it warning me that something is about to quit working for good? I probably shouldn't worry about it but it does have me concerned. Thanks for any help.
Right before I started the truck I turned the key to the "on" position then used the rear window wiper / wash on the turn signal lever, then started the truck. Is it possible I could have moved a loose connection while doing this? Or is it most likely a worn out ignition part? Thanks for the help.
I'm thinking a worn contact within the ignition switch. There are two different ignition circuits, plus the accessory circuit which pass through the ignition switch. If Ign. 2 goes out Ign. 1 still powers the injectors, coils, etc. to run the engine. But at the same time, things like, wipers, HVAC, power windows, etc. do not work. The radio would still work because it gets power from the accessory circuit.
