Hey guys and gals. I have a 94 turbo idi with the factory turb. I'm having trouble keeping it cool. I swapped in a very used radiator that was free and it made no difference. Now I"m looking to put a new one in. The cheapest one I can find locally is a brass unit from Advance for 300. I need to put a analog coolant gauge in but the temp does rise consistantly with the amount of load put on the truck. So I know it's not cooling right. Anyways if anyone has any experience with a cheaper rad I would appriciate it thanks a lot!
Have you done a fan test........ Think get your OEM rad cleaned and check the TSTAT and FAN
PM me your email addy and I will forward the fan test......
Diesel engine coolant temperature at the top of the radiator where hose attaches after high rpm or under load condition for 20 minutes should be (195-237*F) 91-114*C nice time to have a temperature reading point and shoot tool.
CAUTION:
The specified/required thermostat does not contain an internal bypass, since the bypass is located in the cylinder block. Whenever the thermostat is replaced, it is mandatory that only Motorcraft E5TZ-8575-C or Navistar 1807974C94 thermostat be installed.
