Reach up in there by feel, and press the little secret button. I think the headlights have to be on (button has to be pulled out) for it to release so you might want to disconnect the battery. Once the ****/arm comes out, just take the nut off.
You have to pull the **** out to turn the headlights on, then push that button, then pull the ****'s shaft out of the dash. You can then release the button and lightly push the shaft back in to turn the lights off. If you push too hard, the shaft will lock back into the switch and you'll have to start over.
I know how to remove it the problem is getting to the damn thing. There is a steel plate under my dashboard that pretty much makes a simple job a horror show. I was hoping someone knows an easy way to get at the switch without spending hours taking th underside of the dash apart. I think part of the air conditioner is under that plate.
