Glad to here she's better!

But I'm curious about the anti-sieze you used?
I have two kinds - one copper based and one nickel based. Both are highly conductive once the fastener is properly torqued.

I used the autozone grey tube... I'm just repeating what I was told. When my rommate gets back I'm going to get his fluke to check the continuity of antiseize... his meter gives a continuity value.

Keep in mind that it will not be very conductive in the tube because all the metal particles are in a grease suspension. But once torqued, the grease is displaced and the particles are compressed tight against the threads.

So check continuity on tightened fasteners.

Good info for future reference... My previous truck, a 2500 Dodge with 5.7L Hemi, also used no anti-seize on the plugs. I don't recall about the COPs being a problem but proper torque of the plugs was the main concern. If Ford says no anti seize on the plugs, they will go in dry on my 5.4L as well...

This is from TSB 06-15-2. Admittedly it is for the 3V engine.

"...NEW PLUGS SHOULD BE INSTALLED USING A FILM COATING OF MOTORCRAFT HIGH TEMPERATURE NICKEL ANTI-SEIZE LUBRICANT (XL-2) ON THE GROUND ELECTRODE SHIELD OF THE NEW SPARK PLUG (FIGURE 7). DO NOT COAT THE ELECTRODE STRAP OR THE PLUG WILL MISFIRE. THE NEW PLUGS SHOULD BE INSTALLED WITH NO LUBRICANT ON THE THREADS AND TORQUED TO SPECIFICATION..."

Most plugs that do not have black metal should not require anti-seize especially those made of a nickel alloy. Additionally, the lubricant could allow you to over torque the plug. If you do use anti-seize lubricant on the threads, reduce the torque by about 30%.

Tried to change my reps comment, did not know about the torque reduction! This is a potentially valuable piece of information! Thank you!
