timing question

Okay, on my 95 F150 302 auto. My buddy Joe and I really went over this thing and we still can't figure it out. We think it might have jumped timing, but would'nt it run a whole lot worse than what it is. It idles fines and it will even run good for a while and then bog down or stumble under light acceleration, but when you put it to the floor it will go. We took the dizzy cap off and the rotor is pointing at the no.4 position on the cap. Reposition the wire to accommdate this and it would not start and could not get the the timingh light to come on. Does this sound right to anyone. Thanks

Yeah we did that and it the rotor was still a little off. When he hit with the timing light, he couldn't see the mark. When he got up under the truck, the mark was on the bottom of the damper. We played with the timing but it wouldn't come up. It's real hard to explain by trying to type all this, but I'll do my best.

Yeah spout connector is out with the timing light on the #1 wire. A friend of his mentioned that earlier, so I think you just hit something. That would also make it run rich correct or stumble on light acceleration? What's the procedure for correcting it. Thanks

If the balencer sliped you just need to replace it ...
