Diesel prices again

Just curious, but Diesel here is $.50 a gallon more than unleaded. Why?

Around here, #2 has always been between $.15 and $.50 higher than RUG. The explanation given to me was that there's greater demand/consumption overseas, particularly Europe. Whether that holds true today, I don't know. It has been a while though, since diesel around here has been lower than RUG by the same margins.

I want to say we are sitting at about .10-.20 cents a gallon more here in Az, but I will have to look again. I did ask a refinery tech once why it was, but for the life of me I cant remember why!

$3.35 in Harrisburg, PA. $.15 more than premium gas.

It was running between mid-grade and premium over the winter, but now that camper-towing season is hear, it shot up.

Think about it guys.......... 1 summer is here so the sale of home home heating oil is down 2 we tend to drive more in the summer as well. 3 as soon as the leak started in the Gulf with BP's rig the price started to climb..........I have seen it go up .25 since it was first reported. I can guarantee that profits in the billions will be posted yet again for the oil industry.

I actually saw $2.99 on the way into work this morning. That is at a new station that I haven't been into yet, so I don't know if it is LSD or USLD. I've been making a habit of filling up at the local Pilot because they still have LSD. Sometimes their price is a bit higher (that is where I got the $3.35 price above, which is what I paid there early last week).

Where do you live?
Does the Pilot store have two pumps, LSD and ULSD?
Or maybe is the Pilot pump mis-tagged.
I thought it was a Federal Mandate that we all get ULSD.

Fuel around Orl Fl is 2.99 or so. But is always about 0.10 more than super.

Our RUG is $2.65.

Near Harrisburg, PA.
The pump at the Pilot says, "Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel (500ppm), NOT for using in 2007 or newer vehicles)".

USLD is 15ppm.

Are you sure that it isn't mixed and that the mixture is too high for them to technically put the stick on there or are they just being lazy and still haven't put the sticker on there yet?

I find it hard to believe now that there are any LSD stations left unless there is something going on in the background(like the two scenerios mentioned above).

Oh in both places that I live diesel is right there with mid-grade. That might change with the new shipments coming in, but that's what it was like earlier in the week when I filled up.

Returning from Kansas to WV along I70 I saw $.60 to $.70 difference between regular and diesel in Ohio. Here in my part of WV it's $.30 at $3.09.
