87 ford f150 automatic 302 4wd
It Started with poor acceleration, so a tune up was done. Then it ran worse. Currently, truck cant accelerate fast enough to be on the road. Exaust manifold was checked -One was cracked and it was replaced, and the other was fine. Truck still cannot be driven. I have researched via the internet some of the problems that it might be, but I would like to know what everyone thinks. Any help would be great!
Ah, so you figure it out! Sorry I took so long to reply to your message. Agreed on the others. A clogged Cat. Converter can cause that and timing being off can also. You put a bit more info in this thread than in the message which opened up more ideas.
Thanks for the tips. I replace the something that regulates the gas- a vaccum line plugs into it and it regulates the gas (not sure what it is called, but it costs $30). Drove the truck for 6 miles and it seems to get up to speed better then then before. The truck is now drivable.

Yes it was the fuel pressure regulator! I swear the guys at the parts store must think I am crazy. I go in there after compiling a list of the 'what it could be's' and they sell me the parts. I look on the internet at diagrams and how to guides of the way to replace it and give it a go.
The extent of my repairs are limited to - brakes, wheel bearing and the assembly set for winshield wipers(under the hood) on my pontiac, fuel pressure regulator, fuses, and so far thats it- But I guess learning starts somewhere. I appreciate everyones help and suggestions.
Thank You,
-Rita
