2000 Mercury Mountaineer, drivers power window will go down when the up button is pushed. It will also not go down automatically. When the harness os switched to other switches the switch will then work. It will go down a couple inches and stop. Push it again and it will go down a couple more inches and stop. Switch has been checked and is OK. Relay has been replaced an still nothing. Any ideas?

What do you mean by "when the harness is switched to other switches." The switch for the driver's side is different from the other power window switches. Are you saying the other windows work fine from the driver's side master power window switch?
Its my dads car. I tried best to describe what his problem is, and what he did. He unplugged the plug harness from the drivers door button assembly and moved it over so that the passenger side windows were plugged into the drivers side window buttons. He has also tried different (known working) buttons, and has replaced the relay. Is there some other relay or assembly that reverses the polarity when the window up and/or down is pushed?
