There are a few good yards there for old iron ... You may very well find it easy, thats where I got mine from.

Walt & Verns is on the other (east) side of the mountain from you, they may very well have one.

Festus,Thank you. I did find them on the web. What parts do I exactly need to add the tach to my truck and in your opinion would I just be better off to purchase the tach the runs off of the alternator which I have seen for around 90 bucks.

To add a stock tach you'll need to get the tach, the flexible circuit board from the back of the dash (it's different from the non tach board), and the sender from the engine. The wiring harness should already have the connectors needed to plug it all in. If not I can run through the simple wiring needed for it.

You'll also need the IP Gear cover with a Tach port, I don't think yours has one.

The half round thing in the picture in the link I posted that has the circled Tach Sensor mounted in it.

Don't pull your IP gear cover without asking first, there are specific steps for ease.

I'd just find a whole Diesel instrument cluster with Tach and you'll need the sensor.
If you don't have a trip meter, nows a good time to get one...
