jt, that color is Royal Blue Metallic, paint code is LE 53B. I don't see a lot of this color around, esp. on the 3/4 and 1 tons. I've got a friend that has a lifted f150 in this color and it looks really sharp.
As for the 08 and up conversions, I don't know, but I read somewhere that the front frame is different and of course with the fenders, hood, lights and all the other components, the cost would be way up there. The current issue of 8-Lug magazine (they have a web site too) has a coverquest candidate that did this and they say that the conversion went easily into the 4 digits. I would have liked to do it but too much cash for me. Not a lot of detail on what he went through, but it can be done.
I hope nobody has asked this question.. im starting my conversion as well.. i have a bumper on the way but its the just the metal shell? do the front brakets just bolt up and what about the side ones. this is my only concern lol
Thank you for your Posts. I liked the way yours turned out so I did my Black Excursion the same way. Im looking now for an 2004 Harley bumper. But all in all it turned out great and cheaper than the full front end replacement.
Wow. Yours looks very nice. How much were your headlights? I had ordered cheap ones but switched to halo projecters because i didnt have amber reflectors. Got pulled over twice.
Man seeing all these chrome style grilles is kinda funny. Our 2002 F250 had the grille and bumper changed to the 05 styling. But only XL styling. The lights are the same and I like them that way. Just wish I could find a pair of 05 Trailer tow mirrors you know the ones with the lights.

Hey guys, I hope its ok to continue posting to this thread rather than start a new one. I know its kinda old but there is some good info here.
I recently bought a 2004 F250 FX4 and I am interested in doing this conversion. My current 2004 grill is scratched and worn-out looking, so instead of just replacing it, I want to do this upgrade.
I don't want to change out my bumper, so I am looking at these parts on ebay. Here is the grill I found:2005 Ford grill conversion
I'm having trouble finding the headlights. Can I just get normal 2007 headlights and a pigtail for the harness? Or do I need "conversion" headlights?
I do believe you need the conversion headlights as the mounts are diffrent for the 05-07 headlights compared to the 99-04 styles. But then again I am not sure as our truck doesn't have the conversion we have the 02-04 styles on our truck with 05 bumper and grille.

Thanks, those are the ones I had actually just found. I'm not too crazy about having to cut the header, which is required to install these headlights, per the ad description, but I guess it will be needed if I choose not to convert the entire front clip.
I'm going to look at changing the bumper too. but I am not sure I really want to do that. I like the way my 2004 bumper looks and I think the grill and headlight update will be a good look.
