Trans tepp guage
Ok guys I did a search with no luck so I am asking here. Where do I hook the sensor up to for the tranny temp?
Thanks
Jim

on auto(e4od) there is a plug on the driver side of the transmission just about the pan. just above the second or third bolt of the pan.

Yes sir... pull that plug and put in the sensor. It'll give a good general temp reading. Not the hottest reading, but the average temp basically. If it gets over 200* start backing off a little. At about 225* things start to get bad inside the tranny.

Nothing goes bad at 225°F inside the transmission.

Do you need a temp gauge on a stick shift with a chip?

The ideal operating temperature for transmission fluid is between 175 and 225.Anything over that could boil the fluid.

Transmission fluid doesn't boil until it is well over 400°F. Yes, I wrote four hundred degrees Fahrenheit.
