Power Brake Booster?
The truck needs a master cyl now and I'm wondering if it makes sense to install this Buy Cardone Remanufactured Power Brake Booster With Master Cylinder 50-3515 at Advance Auto Parts now and use it initially with the stock F100 brakes and later with the CV brakes.
The booster will bolt up to the firewall in the same way that the original '70 master cyl does, right?
Would the Cardone booster/master cyl be for front disk brakes or did a F100 come with power all drum brakes? Either way, would it be a problem to use that master cyl with the original front drum brakes?
Will the brake rod be OK with the F100 manual brake pedal? If not, does the rod pull out of the booster like the rod pulls out of a master cyl? If it uses the same kind of rod, I expect an adjustable rod would handle any difference in length.
Any advice or comments will be appreciated.

If so, the MC for a disc/drum system is different for a drum/drum system. They have different internals. I do know it not wise to use a drum/drum MC for a disc/drum system, but I am not sure if it would affect safety to use a disc/drum MC for a drum/drum system. If it IS safe, you can get a disc/drum MC and booster. Somebody else may be able to help with this point.
Regarding mounting, the booster needs brackets. It will not mount up to the studs used for the MC.
Here is a pic of the brackets, as I was installing them on Frodo, my '69 F250:

These brackets can be found at salvage yards, or you could probably snag a set from someone here.
Or you can get them here: (about halfway down on the right side of the page)

I believe at least some drum brake master cyls have residual valve(s) to keep the shoes near the drums, which aren't helpful with disks. Also believe some residual valves can be removed. Something to think about for sure.
I'll look for some brackets.
Thanks.

. Were power brakes with front drums available on the '70 F150?
. Will the rod attached to the booster be OK when attached to a manual brake pedal?
