I have a '96 Explorer that is having a problem with the "key still in ignition" warning beep.
When the driver's door is open and the key in the ignition there is no sound, no beep, no warning. But when I take the key out of the ignition and the driver's door is open the warning beep goes off. Just the opposite of what should be happening.
Note: this is only happening when the driver's door is open. When the passenger door is open there is no warning beep whether the key is in the ignition or not.
What is happening? This is a very annoying problem as you can imagine.
