Upgrading

Im thinking about getting a new truck. Im looking for a 1993 to a 1996 F150, but i dont know what years were good and what engines are. What engines were the good ones those years?

I'm partial to 5.8 (351w) or the nice grunt of the 4.9 (300 Big Six). Depends on what you will do with the truck I suppose. Better fuel mileage with a 4.9/5 spd in most cases. The 5.0 (302) has its fans but I'm not one. Its not as bad engine at all but if I have a V-8, I want a big one
