Before I remove my dash, I am trying to figure out how to get the blank out that is to the right of my "Wait to start" lamp. Its the square piece of plastic that goes where the touch drive buttons go in electronic shift 4x4s.
Do I need to remove the entire black dash trim piece or does it pop out without removing the dash?
I would think that the dash panel has to be removed, then the blank removed with a dremel tool/cut-off wheel. I am thinking of utilising that space for a guage, etc. in the near future. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thanks Dan. I am mounting my GPS unit there so I'll post what I end up with. I am thinking of just screwing it to the blank as well as hot gluing it.
Yeah,
I used that 'stick-on velcro' for my cd remote. One day after work, I reached for it and found it laying on the floor. The heat made it slide off the face of the dash...velcro sticks real good, but the stickum can't take the heat. 'Clean up on isle 3'!
