What year truck....... put up a signature with all the info.
Sounds like the door may be broken off.......in the heater box. Your sure the motor is working. On some models loss of vacuum causes the door to default to defrost.
Its a 1986 f250 4x4 6.9 diesel. And it just the vents that work, you can hear the little thang switching but noting happens, the vacumme pump is new on the motor
I'd bet money your blend door is broken then. The little vacumn activated arm is working and moving the door but since it cant pivot anymore the door doesn't seal and the air is not redirected. You have a couple options, you can go to a junkyard, get a new airbox and see how long it lasts. Some people have manged to rehinge the door using very small jewelry box style hinges. What I do is remove the front half of the airbox and tape a piece of cardboard over the hole. This way your floor heat and defroster will work, but the dash vents wont.
Its behind the dash on the passenger side. If you remove the top of the dash, you will see the dash vents connect to the front half of a large box. Remove the front half of the box and you will be able to see the blend door.
Syco already said it's location so, I'll just say that I successfully hinged mine and also took the care to seal all leaks as well as ensure all doors seal when closed...
I do not like heat in my face or frozen tootsies, I no longer have either!
