I have installed my Edelbrock Perfromer intake and my 1406 carb on my 1980 Ford F-100 302. I was trying to work on the throttle connection last night and notice that my old hardware is completely different than the hardware that came on the new carb. So much that the throttle cable will not even connect let alone that the cable bracket will not bolt to the intake manifold.
the carb should have come with a little bolt on throttle cable adaptor thingy that looks like a tall miniature "Sorry" game piece if you didn't get that, the parts store where you got it should be able to come up with one for you.
Edelbrock has an adaptor for attaching your cable bracket to the manifold, part number 1490.
I believe that is what I need. I do not have the 'sorry adaptor' which is what i was looking for last night. The plate adaptor will reallly help also. The pictures really really help...thanks for them!
O, the 1483 is for automatic transmissions. You should be good with those two parts in my previous post. If you have a "super shucks" around they should carry the parts n stock.
Super shucks were just stores that stocked performance parts. Moreso than other shucks stores.
