Engine leak?

I got a leak comin from the back of the motor looks like almost under the turbo or the valve covers but i cant see the exact point its comin from. I thought it was the rear main seal but when i pulled the cover plate the rear main isnt leaking at all. It only takes about 5 to 10 min after shutin the truck off to have a puddle and i can see it drippin down the side of the motor from the top but cant find it. There is no oil in the valley either. any ideas? Its a 95 F350 powerstroke

Sounds like turbo pedestal orings. Try and clean it up as good as you can and start it and watch under the turbo and elsewhere. That's my guess though. You have to remove the turbo and pedestal to replace if that's it.

Could be the plugs in the back of the heads too. Gonna have to get in there and clean and check.

Also, welcome to fte.

If it looks like turbo o-rings, when you remove the turbo, check the center section of the turbo for a hairline crack near rear bottom bolt on the exhaust side of the turbo. Mine had a crack there and it was leaking BAD!It isn't that common for it to be cracked but I have seen a few with this problem so I wanted to throw it out there and let you know about it because it can be easy to miss if you don't know to look for it. The center section (bearing housing) of the turbo is replaceable and is available on Ebay for about $100.00Hope this helps,

Hey thanks guys for the input. Its defenitley not the dipstick and looks like somethin around the turbo so you guys are probably spot on with that. I also noticed like you guys were sayin it looks like there is two plugs back there at the top of the motor drivers side that you can see by lookin up threw there. If thats what it is is there a seal on those or could they just have backed out enough to leak? How do you reach those to check for tightnes?

I have not had to work on those but heard they are not real fun to get at. I believe both IH and FORD make a new oring kit for those plugs. You can contact edthepartsguy, he's one of our sponsors on the left, if you figure out what's leaking he can set u up with any parts you need.

You can see them here and you also can see the o-ring in one of them:
