The ignition module did not fix the problem. I just put the new BWD Select ignition module on, truck started right up, idled for 20 minutes, then died suddenly - no sputtering, just died. Now it won't start. It just cranks. I disconnected the connector to the pickup in the distributor and reconnected, pulled the coil wire and reconnected, pulled the coil clip off and put back on, checked the solenoid - which I found has a loose post, but it's still pretty tight - so I wiggled it around until it was tight, then I tried to start it. Nothing. It just cranks. What else should I check? It doesn't have catalytic converters. Could it be the solenoid? What does vapor lock act like? Could the coil be getting hot and breaking down? It seems to be heat-related. When the truck is cold, it starts immediately, but when it warms to operating temperature, it dies. I'll keep reading and checking. Please send your suggestions.

Check the resistance between the orange and purple wires going to the magnetic pickup inside the distributor it should be 400-700 Ohms.

Appears to be the pickup in the distributor. Replaced it and the starter solenoid, and so far, so good. Thanks for all of the help.
