Tailgate Center Trim Removal?

Tailgate Center Trim Removal?
Does anybody know the best way to remove the center trim on the tailgate?
(the piece with the Ford letters stamped in it)
Are there plastic clips behind it or are they metal?
I see rivets heads on the inside of the tailgate - do I need to grind these off?
