I was just curious about something. I have a 2002 Lariat that does not have heated seats, or at least i've never found a button for them. I saw in someones signature on here that they had an XLT w/seat heaters. Shouldnt my lariat have seat heaters, or am i missing something? Where is the seat heater button?
The switch is on the track trim, right in front of the position switch. It will show a seat with three little fart lines coming off it and will have a tiny orange lit LED when engaged. Incidentally, Ford seat heaters are expensive, but you can find some aftermarket ones on Ebay for less than $100 for both sides. Install is not too hard. I am going to put them in the rear seats of my truck, as they only came in the fronts.
The Ford ones are usually toast by 110K... at least that was the case in my truck. Oh well nice while they lasted. Perhaps i can replace them when i do my lower bucket seat skins~ they're tattered.

Yeah I have thought about adding some for the rear too. Where would you install a button for each side TMP?
Definitely, that way the individual passenger has the option to turn them on just for them, although it would be funny to see the passenger on the other side jump when their butts unknowingly get warm.
Me personally, I am torn between either using two of the switches on my F-650 dash for the rear heaters or putting them on the sides of the track covers. Might do that. If I do though, I am going to buy new switches from Ford so that the fronts match the rears exactly, but I am overly **** about things matching in my truck. If you are putting them into one that did not come with it, I would just use the switches that come with the kit. Each kit should have a switch for each seat. If you like, I will be more than happy to take a pic and post it up of my switch, that way you can put yours in the factory location. Just let me know.
Yes pics would be great! I have been thinking about using the front side panels from a wrecked KR F250 (as I found one close by). And using the button switchs to do the seat heats and block out all the other power areas.
Thanks everyone, i'm gonna do some searching on ebay and plan to add them in the future. If anyone has done the same thing, please post up any tips, pics, or problems you ran into.
That's dirty? You should never come firewood cutting or hunting with me you would have stroke. Nice truck.
OP I think it would look better if you just cut holes in the original seat trim and mounted Ford switches. The back seats don't have the back recliner lever or lumbar **** do they? So those holes would be empty to.
