Fuel Gauge
I have a 2005 F250. I long ago installed a RDS auxilary tank in the bed and I am now wondering if I could get a fuel sensor to put into the tank that I could wire into the factory gauge. Does any one know of one that would work and could be wired into the factory gauge? Anyone know the resistance that our gauges work on? I found one post that says something like 15 - 160 ohms.

I am not sure it is so simple.
Does the stock Ford sender unit just send fuel levels? Or does it do more like monitoring for a vacuum break?
Doesn't the gauge do calibration while it "wakes up"?
Can you switch it in mid stream and not have the PCM think the sky has fallen?
