fuel gauge died
After getting new flowmaster installed today, my fuel gauge went dead. The installer probably burned up a wire with the welder. Any idea which one it would be? I have a 67 F100 CCS with in-cab tank and one saddle tank. I don't see how they could have burned any wires to the in-cab tank, but they could easily have done one on the saddle tank. I have a switch in the cab that switches the fuel gauge from main to aux tanks, but I don't know if burning the wire to the aux tank would mess up the operation of the gauge when main tank is selected.

Is it only the fuel gauge that isn't working? My thoughts are that he burned a wire and when it shorted out with the frame it may have blown something on the gauge side of the switch. Definately check that wire though. It is an orange wire if it is original.

ok. checked under the truck and traced the wire a little ways from the aux. gas tank. It isn't burned. I checked around a little and can't find anything wrong. Later that day, my fuel gauge started working intermittently. I guess I have a short somewhere or something. I'll have to do some more wire tracing.
