Recently purchased a 2010 screw platinum. Love it so far. I'm curious however, if anyone's had any problem with power deployed running boards in the winter when there's frequently a chance that a huge ice boulder behind the front tire is blocking the path? Sure looks like it could be an issue.

I put mud guards on mine and didn't notice any issues this past Pittsburgh winter.

Was actually thinking about that myself but as Steve mentioned... mud guards are on already and will make sure they are lubed up/cleaned out as much as possible. Not expecting much of a problem though... only on those long trips with the slush where it freezes before I have a chance to pull over (opening/closing the doors should clear a lot of it for the in town useage).

I recognise that truck Medic583 - small world......

I read lots of reviews before fitting the AMP Research steps to my truck and came across no bad reviews regarding sticking or freezing.

haha... Robin... should've known you'd be on here with that gorgeous new truck of yours.
Thanks again for bringing me back to Ford World... it's been a LONG time of driving the Chev's/GMC's...
