Hey guys I'm stumped my glowplugs check out good my relay selanoid is good what else could be causing this it only smokes at start up for about 1min then clears up its white smoke
What do you guys think it just started doing this ?
you might have a oil leak into one of your cylinders through a injector oring or something,
maybe try glowing a couple of times before you start and see if that changes anything.
if you dont get any smoke after doing that then your plugs might just not be getting hot enough.
thats all i can think of ATM...
Wouldn't a bad oring on a injecter make it smoke all the time and be kind of blueish colored cause the smoke is a thick white smoke ?
I've tried cycling the glow plugs a couple of times and then starting it still does it
This all started after I did all my mods in my sig? And I put new orings in hpop deleted my ebpv
Maybe just bad timing I don't no I can't figure it out it was fine before no that its all put back together its doing this I'm going to go threw and check the glow plugs a second time first time I ohm them out they were all between 007 and 009 I'm not sure how a multi meter works but from my understanding they are good correct me if I'm wrong ?
ok, when you say thick white smoke that has to be something to do with the fuel/glowplugs i would say. my 4 runner did the same thing years ago when the golwpugs stopped working. but then you say that the plugs are working so that has me stumped mate...
it wont take long for others to chime in and give some advice on things to check, hopefully between us all we can sort it out for you
When you ohm out the glow plugs do you wait for the meter do even out or do you take the really high number it gives you for a split second I took the number after the meter made up its mind what it showed aftter I had pins together for 30 seconds ?
I've never used a multi meter before now so I might be doing something wrong
I had it on the 200 ohm setting cause that's the lowest it goes I had ground lead on negative battery terminal positive on glow plug pins this is what I got for readings
passenger side G007 G009 i 032 i 030 i 030 i 032 G008 G009
Driver side G007 G007 I? I? I? I? G008 G007
I dint check the driver side injecters yet (I?) Do these readings seam right ?
ive never measured my glow plugs but they all look reletivly even so it should be right.
i will do a quick search on here and see what i can find for you
here is a thread for you to look at the 4th post in has the ohm readings, i think yours are all good, but have a read through and see what you find. ill keep looking as well
i just thought of something when you cycle your glow plugs how long did you cycle for, as the wait to start light has nothing to do with the glow plugs, the glow plugs will stay on for up to 2 minutes or so, depending on how cold it is. i have a LED light i fitted to the dash that runs from my GPR and lets me know when they are on, and if the GPR is working properly.
here is a thread on the LED mod it has a parts list and pics to follow the LED can be placed anywhere in the cab9 i put mine in the dash near the 4wd switch.
I can't be leave no body else has some more ideas I ordered the 200amp stancore relay today cause one its 30 bucks cheaper than oem and I want to replace the easy part first the relay checks out but it might not be
transferring anuff juice to fire the glow plugs
cool the stancore is the better one, i think its a bit beefier, did you check ebay i got my new one from the USA for about 45 bucks delivered. i can send you the link if you want.
yeah i havint seen the usual guys on here the last couple of days but im sure that when they log in, they will throw some ideas your way...
