Moving up to 265's

Hello all, my truck is a bone stock 96 SC 4x4 . It has the automatic with 3:55 gears. My truck sits low for a 4x4 model, only a little taller than a 2wd. I don't know if it because it has the camper package on it or not. Any way it's time for tires. I want to move up to a BFG A/T 265/75/16 and get rid of the stock 235 Wally world specials. I have the same tire in a 285 on my Excursion, they are great tires(had four sets). This is my work truck and it pulls a 2500lbs cargo trailer everyday. I don't want to lose much power, but want to make truck look a little tougher. If I had 4:10 gears,it would be a no brainer. Do you think I will notice ? I want to put on a 2" lift later. Thanks

You won't notice any difference with the 265's. They are about the same diameter, just a little wider. Diameter of the 235/85/16 is approx. 31.7" and the diameter of the 265/75/16 is approx. 31.65. I have the same truck basically except 1 year newer. That is the size tire I run with the same gears.

The 265's will be the same height as the 235's, just wider. 285's are a little taller. You shouldn't notice any difference with the 265's.
I am running 285's with 3.55 gears and didn't notice too much difference between the 235's and 285's.
