Hello everyone.... WOW having a newborn thats Actually yours is so over whelming...
i am SO tired and so is my fiancée. Not only that i got laidoff... doesnt it seem like everything happens at once all the time...
daughter is doing fine. she is a vampire... only sleeps during the day.. not at night... and she DOES NOT want to be in her crib... she wants to be held alllll the time...
Thought I'd pop my head in here and say g'day before starting work at midnight.... so g'day all! Congrats on the sprog, Fern. At least effy's have plenty of room for a capsule on the bench seat!
Hope everyone State-side is about to enjoy their lunch
Hey good morning from the states its Saturday May 7th 8:30ish. jobs are bad here in the states... all around. hey anyone knows of an opening down there i am willing to relocate! .
theres plenty of work down here m8. if you are willing to have a go you will get somewhere. gotta say we must have the most *****tiest goverment aroud though. If you can get over that and you love great food, great people and great climate, come on down bro.
if you have experience on boats I can possibly hook you up a traineeship - $670/wk while you study and for the first 12wks on the job, then it goes up to $998/wk while you complete the rest of your time (24wks). All up it takes about 2yrs and then you're on $120k/yr
or as Brian says, if you're willing to get in and get dirty there are always jobs as labourers, forklift drivers etc - I could probably get you a spot at a freight depot as well if you preferred something local instead of fly-in/fly-out with the bub and all. Or I have a mate with a suspension shop looking for a storeman, and another mate looking for a parts interpreter at Precision International.......
Those are all in W.A. haha and only the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Due to the resources boom, everyone is working in the North of the state on mines, or like me, offshore in the oil & gas sector. As a result all of the spots we used to fill locally are all vacant and we actually need as many people as we can get to fill them

Old Cuban saying:
Father could be many; Mother only one.
What sort of help are you talking about? Unfortunately with my roster I can't do much than offer anything really more than what I already have, and that's limited to WA as I don't have many contacts over East. Possibly the only other thing I might be able to point you towards is someone who works at a furniture/household goods warehouse to help furnishing a place, or Classifieds by Quokka Online is a good one to get free/cheap 2nd hand items.
Jump onto SEEK - Australia's no. 1 jobs, employment, career and recruitment site for an idea of what sort of jobs are regularly advertised. Keep in mind though, our cost of living is pretty high... $1.60+/L fuel, your trucks will be around $500/yr to register (each), plus getting everything here etc etc, it won't be a cheap exercise :S plus is it best for your wife and kids as far as family goes? I know that if we had a newborn, my missus wouldn't want to be too far away from her mum for support...

ya i hear ya man. i spoke to her about it she said to wait a little until the babys a little older and not needing so much attention. bec i help her out a lot with feedings and diaper changing. but she doesnt mind me going out there and giving it a shot .... she actually would like to move out there as some point in her life as well...
and as far as moving out there it wouldnt be in one shot. i would move little by little... me first with out anything... then start to move my stuff that way. i know its a lot of mula... but worth it if we are going to be happier there. plus i heard AU is a great place to live and raise a fam. well... i will look into it.
