Train Horn

I'm in the hunt for a good train horn. I'm not sure if i want to go for a kit or piece it together. I'm on a budget of around $300. I would also like to have something to air up tires or run air tools.

I have heard Viair makes good stuff. Ive also had these sites recommended to me before.
Air Systems
Train Horns & Train Horn Kits: Loudest Horns Available

I'm looking for any suggestions guys, as well as pics of your setup.

Also, can someone please explain CFM and how it effects the performance of a train horn setup?

I got a $330.00 ticket for those...Was quite amusing though. Honked them at some girls strutting up the street shaking their butts and they cringed...Didn't see the cop sitting along the tracks 200yds up on the other side of the street watching traffic. He spilled his coffee or coke, and was pretty upset that his pants were wet. I almost got my truck towed because he so p!ssed off and I couldn't stop laughing. Train horns are funny, but they are expen$ive if you get a ticket.

cfm doesn't have a lot to do with the horns themselves... it deals more with the compressor, and how fast it will refill your tank...

with air horns you probably won't be able to go tankless...they just eat too much air.

if you're serious about it, save up for a little while and get some real air chimes.

Also, dont mount them on something that rattles.

one other question guys.

What size tank and compressor would i need to have onboard air to fill tires and run small air tools for a short time?

i'd say a 5 gallon tank...you never know what you'll end up doing and how much air you will draw...the larger size is nice

If you plan on running air tools you want alot bigger than a air horn compressor. You would want a backup compressor for a semi. One of the non stop models.

Jason at Airhorns of Texas is a great guy. I have had no problems with any of his products. Quick shipping and he will answer any question you might have.
