trouble light WARNING!!!!!

I have had my florescent drop light for three+ years and have never replaced the bulb. It is a yellow plastic unit with a clear plastic tube and a lens in the end for a limited "flashlight function. The unit had a wire two hook hanging system but I cut off one hook because it made it hard to maneuver in tight spots. I left a short wire "handle" where the hook was and used the yellow plastic tip on it.

I bought it at Home Depot and replaced the short cord with a long 25 foot cord. I used the short yellow cord to fix a 1/2" electric drill...

trouble light WARNING!!!!!

I've only had to replace the bulb because somebody dropped a flywheel on it. It shattered the bulb but didn't even ding the lens.

trouble light WARNING!!!!!

For years I had a retractable 100 watt unit in the garage. Burned my self & other things numerous times. Also even the rough house bulbs would pop. Bought a non rertractable fluorsecent from Sears on sale for less than $12.00 about two years ago. Works great, fits in tighter places, has magnetic or clip holder & no burns. I also have a big halogen for overhead with fluorsecents. Just becareful with halogents as they will start fires. One day last winter my old one eyed 18 years old barn cat backed her fanny up to the halogen near the floor to warm her self up. I smelled something as her fur was beginning to smolder. Moved her away.she almost used up her 9th life.
