smoke at start up?

hey guys...
i dont know if it has always done this and im just noticing now, but at start-up i get a puff of black smoke. not much, just a puff, but it does it when sitting over nite or just after starting from a trip to the store. just want to make sure it is normal and im not ruining anything. still a semi-newbie to the 7.3 club. thanks for any and all help...

Sounds normal, in real cold weather it could be a little white at first, nothing to worry about.

I get zero smoke at start up in warm weather. I get smoke when it's freezing cold out, but never black.
