I had a chance to buy a 67 Comet for $1700. It has been sitting for 30 years. It is so cherry, only minor dent in one door. All the moldings are there, emblems, cherry glass, cherry bench seat still original and clean, with original two tone door panels and cherry oem head liner!! How often do you see that. I had forgotten about three on the tree.
I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing it. I could see the engine with turbo set up, loping cam, low, purring exhaust, and a 4 sp tranny with od, wide rear tires and lifted in the rear....
a true story. when i was 19. i had almost the exact same ride. mine was a 4 door falcon. had the same motor. but she sported a 4 on floor. it looked factory, but i was never sure, did not know all that much back then. fourth was 1 to 1 though, and i remember it was a very lightweight box. there was not a whole lotta big .torque monster going on. honestly, that car was one of the finest rides i ever owned. good mileage, blast to drive etc etc. i realize now looking back, i made a huge mistake not keeping that car. did not know any better then. it would be usefull to me today. not for making money on a clean old car. more for actually driving. she had skinny little 14" tires for example, and i swear boss that car would go through snow and ice like a john deere green. i would slip her in gear, hold a steady thou or so rpm and she would just go. it,s the only way i can explain it. she never, not once left me in the ditch. any chance your find is still around. i think that would be a quality investment , no joke. paul md.
I had a 63 falcon 2 dr wagon with a 3 on the tree. wow, I took that car everywhere. you would never believe how many young ladies wanted to cruise in that, and not my buddies gto, or my other buddies chevelle. wow. thanks for the little smile there kevin.
